Situated on the A28 between Canterbury & Ashford, our charming Village Hall should be top of your list for Children's Parties. We love having kids here and they love it too! If the weather's not so good we can accommodate up to 70 youngsters indoors. If the weather's fine, let them run to their hearts content in our generous gardens.

Godmersham & Crundale Village Hall is an excellent, fully-equipped venue for hosting Children’s Parties. It is offered at competitive, all inclusive rates.

Regrettably, we are currently not able to accept bookings for private parties for those aged 13 and over, except for residents of Godmersham and Crundale parishes. Proof of residency will be required if you are not known to a committee member.

We have a Main Hall that seats up to 130 in a banquet setting or 150 in ‘Theatre’ setting. Larger numbers can be accommodated for parties which are primarily ‘standing’.

The smaller John Sunley Room can be used separately or as an extension room to the Main Hall, and is ideal for setting up buffets or a small games area.

A large and well appointed Kitchen has been designed with the professional caterer in mind, offering them the space and equipment to work in to provide food and drink for your event. You can of course utilise the kitchen yourself.

We have over two acres of grounds with ample space for outdoor activities.

General Licensing

We are licensed for licensable activities to be undertaken from 7am to 11pm. Licensable activities are the performance of plays, indoor sports events, playing live music, playing recorded music, performance of dance, other entertainment, facilities for making music, facilities for dancing, entertainment facilities.

Alcohol Licensing

If you are giving alcohol to adult guests during a Children's Party then NO LICENCE is required.

If you wish to sell alcohol, or are hiring a Pay Bar, you MUST have a license. One advantage of 'Pay Bars' is they often have their own licenses - however, please confirm with your supplier first.

It is your responsibility to ensure the correct license is held and that the licensing conditions as required by law are met. A Temporary Event Notice (click for info) may be needed and must be obtained by the hirer at least 21 days in advance from Ashford Borough Council.

Included in Hire

The following are included in your hire price:

  • Car Park
  • the Hall Building, Kitchen and all equipment
  • Tables, Chairs, Disco & Mood Lighting
  • Sound System / PA
  • Hi Speed WiFi
  • Stage if required
  • Digital Projector and Screen
  • Plates, Cutlery, Glasses (*see below)
  • Heating and Lighting

*A certain number of plates, cutlery and glasses are included in the booking price. However, if you require uniformity of style and colour, you may wish to hire the items in externally. You should also arrange your own soft furnishings such as table cloths and napkins.

We have 10 rectangular Go-Pak tables, 15 five-foot diameter round tables, and 140 chairs. The tables all seat 6 to 8.

Note that we have a full set of Sound-Activated Disco Lights and a high quality Sound System/PA. Hence there is no need to hire a DJ! All you need is a device capable of playing music (e.g. Smart Phone, Tablet, Laptop) with a playlist and a standard headphone socket.

Costs

We operate a 'two fee' system, for residents and non residents. Residents of Godmersham Parish and Crundale Parish are eligible for discounted rates. Proof of residency may be requested if you are not known to the bookings secretary.

Non Residents
Hourly fee: £18.00 / £9.00 half hour.

Residents
Hourly fee: £13.00 / £6.50 half hour.

A deposit is required, and is refunded to you by BACS transfer within 7 days after your booking, once the hall, grounds and equipment have been inspected.

Non Residents: £150 deposit Residents: £100 deposit
